With the long weekend coming up, I started looking up for options and came across this beautiful Kedarkantha Peak trek with Gypsy Shack. The first call to Shubha was very warm and welcoming and that's exactly how my experience has been since then...
As I kept stumbling upon facts regarding my first Himalayan trek, my frantic calls to Shubha and Jagpreet kept increasing and they were always patient and supportive. What I liked about them was that there was never a sales pitch but more a sense of encouragement to a fellow traveler which came across as genuine and comforting. They kept me well informed at all times and coupled with my constant Googling, I felt quite confident.

The mountains were beautiful as we drove from Dehradun to Sankri, the first leg of the trip had gorgeous landscapes just about everywhere! I would put on my headphones and get lost in them. So did I come back with loads of pictures and stories to tell? No, not really! I came back after the first day unable to face my initial fear of cold coupled with rain. This journey towards Kedarkantha and time of solitude, after a very long time, made me see myself much clearly without any noise. Some parts scary, some parts peaceful: My journey inwards - a journey that I will always remember!

Our trek guide Bacchanji and Shubha were probably more disappointed than me that I did not complete the trek. And that sums up the support I received from them. Thank you so much for everything and yes until next time!
