Everything about the mountains exude a charm that not many can resist. But the overwhelming number of treks can leave one confused. Because not everything needs to be taken that seriously and we had a sudden urge for the mystic, we decided to play match the columns with our favorite treks and the sunsigns. And tada! Because they love exploring the new, especially off the beaten path destinations. Their courageous souls need thrilling adventures. A big shot of adrenalin is mandatory. A bit of romance doesn't hurt either! But in these isolated terrains, Arian should rein their notorious impulsiveness, lest someone fancies falling through a crevasse or getting lost or running into a bear! Located in Uttarakhand, this strenuous trek winds through blooming meadows and remote corners of the Nanda Devi National Park to the massive Milam Glacier.

Choc-a-bloc plans compliment their unbridled energy. Fixed Departure and Group tours are best for these social butterflies. The Har ki Dun & Satopanth Lake Treks are their best matches. Water is their element and a gorgeous, jewel-toned lake (no bursting into tears on the lakeside though!) is what it takes to entice the crab. Short, well-worn trails are what Cancers would prefer. Both the Dodital and Dayara Bughyal Treks are quite popular with trekkers. The sight of turquoise bodies of water amidst rolling meadows peppered with tiny flowers is mesmerising.

Throw in a bit of adrenalin pumping activities like glissading and rappelling, stoke the lion's dynamic persona and they will be all set to roar. The Sar Pass Trek offers an unprecedented adventurous package. Trekking, glissading and rappelling are all required to navigate certain sections of the trail. The essence of meticulously planned travel, Virgos prefer well-charted vacations and seek the lesser known cousins of touristy places. They are frugal travellers. Their vacations almost always have a touch of educational experience. The Sandakphu Trek will bring them to the Queen of Hills, Darjeeling and further up in the mountains along the Singalila Range. A wide variety of birds and immaculate sunrises are the highlights of this trek.

Because there's got to be a branch route to deviate from the plan when the mood strikes! Home comforts matter to Librans and they would mostly choose tea-houses or lodges over tents. Ladakh's unique cultural heritage and culinary offerings, besides the picturesque locales will appeal to their epicurean senses. Markha Valley is one of Ladakh's most luxuriant valleys and is a top choice for most trekkers in the area. Barren stony mountains that appear a different shade at different times of the day, a gurgling river and squares of green and gold barley add to the charm of Tibetan monasteries and happy village life.

Because mystery is what feeds these curious souls. They are intensely inquisitive but are never really satisfied and have a penchant for the wide, boundless wilderness. Ruled by Pluto, Scorpios are determined creatures and they have a "thing" for all things dark. Solo tours are to their liking. We recommend the Roopkund Trek to them as it has always been linked to mystery. The discovery of human and equine skeletons drew attraction to this icy flan in the Uttarakhand Himalayas. Though many have been taken away since as souvenirs, a few can be seen at the bottom of the lake, most of which is frozen year round.

Because they breathe adventure. Period. Expeditions, explorations, wild thrilling escapades are what they seek. They are the true travellers of the zodiac who can effortlessly immerse themselves in the local culture. Luxury is not really their style. The Chadar Trek is considered the subcontinent's most glamorous trek and involves walking on the frozen Zanskar River. In terms of difficult, it isn't hard but walking on the slippery ice mirror that changes colour every now and then is treacherous.

Because they like a challenge! The mountain goats are drawn to heights. So treks that lead up to jaw-dropping elevations are best for them. Hasty, crammed vacations are not the Capricorn's cup of tea. They need to unwind and prefer off-time to soak in the scenery. Fixed Departure and Group Tours are best for them. At 5319 m and 4850 m respectively, the Pin Parvati Pass & Bhaba Pass are literally in the clouds! The trail winds through some of the some remote parts of the country, through dense coniferous forests, meadows and barren mountainside. For bird-watchers, the area presents excellent opportunities.

Because just physical thrill won't satisfy them. They need a good dose of intellectual stimulation to keep going and what better than Malana with its century old socio-cultural heritage. Aquarians worship independence and the Parvati Valley- well, we aren't talking of the famed Malana Cream- is just where they belong. They also prefer repeating locations.

Because they are the water babies of the zodiac! Pisces are highly sensitive and are particularly influenced by their surroundings. The tranquility and the impeccable beauty of this trek appeal to their creative spirits. The trail goes through alpine flower-strewn meadows and quiet woods.
