Located in the Bay of Bengal, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands are an archipelago of 572 islands, islets and rocks of which only 34 are permanently inhabited. These islands boast of white sandy beaches and mangrove lined creeks and are home to numerous indigenous species of flora and fauna, underwater marine life and corals. Havelock Islands is the largest of 9 emerald islands which are part of the Ritchie's archipelago. This island is the main scuba diving and tourism centre of the Andamans.
