Bhaba Pass Trek, Himachal Pradesh 8N/9D
Preferred Season: June-October
Trekking through the barren landscapes of Spiti and the verdant greenery of the Kinnaur valley
Trekking to the dizzyingly high Bhaba Pass, 4865 m
Hiking through the bio-diversity rich Great Himalayan National Park
Camping on alpine meadows under the stars
The breath-taking scenery that we experienced all along the trek was a memory in itself. Purple mountains swimming in the distance, lofty snow clad peaks, orchards of apples, stark barren landscapes, forests of ancient conifers and the list goes on. Views from atop the Bhaba Pass stretch all the way to the Pin Parvati pass and are wondrous. On the way, we got to experience the simple and generous life lead by the people living in tiny mountain hamlets.
About - Bhaba Pass Trek
This less traveled trail starts from the lush green Kinnaur Valley in Himachal and after going through the Spiti mountain ranges and crossing the Bhabha Pass, also known as the Tarikhango Pass, at 4865m enters the lush alpine valley of Pin. You get the best of both landscapes- a stark barren hi-altitude desert and a land of lush alpine meadows and thick coniferous forests. The entire route starting from the tiny village of Kafnu on the Kinnour side to the tiny hamlet of Mud in the Pin valley is extremely scenic with enchanting views of the Kinnaur and Spiti mountain ranges.
