    Gypsy Byte

The Borasu Pass Trek has a quiet, majestic beauty. The scenery was a symphony of lush green meadows and sparkling white snow fields. The area around the Zupica Glacier was treacherous. The descent brought us to Chitkul, the famed last village before Tibet. Along the way, the soft murmur of the icy Baspa kept us company.

    About Borasu Pass

The Borasu or Bara-su Pass lies on an ancient trade route between the Har ki Dun Valley in Uttarakhand and Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh. Located just a few kilometres from the Indo-Tibetan border, the eastern part of the Borasu Pass is the Tons Valley and the north-west part in the Baspa Valley.  En route, lies the massive Zupica Glacier and the still blue waters of the Morinda Tal. Grasslands mark the approach to the pass that offers spectacular views of the Bandarpoonch, Kala Nag, Swargarohini and Har ki Dun peak.
