Our trip to the Chorla Ghats was wonderfully rejuvenating. We loved walking through the forest with only birdsong and the crunch of leaves under our feet. The guided walks spotting numerous faunal species in the thick jungles taught us quite a lot about biodiversity in these forests. We also spent hours in the infinity pool, gazing at the gorgeous waterfall in the opposite hill.
About Chorla Ghats
A part of the Mhadei Bio Region in the Sahyadri Range, Chorla Ghats is home to tigers, leopards, gaur, chital, sloth bear, critically-endangered bats and scores of other species. The dense multi-canopied forests are feed by the Halatr nullah and the Surla rivers. The gorgeous 143 m high Vazra Sakla falls appears stunning against the forested slopes. Hiking trails wind through the jungles. The silence is interrupted only by calls of animals and birdsong. Breath-taking views of the Swapnagandha Valley greet one through openings in the vegetation. Taste the authentic Goan cuisine - the freshness of the spices up the flavour - and down it with the Hurrak, a local cashew extract.
