The rugged terrain of Lahaul-Spiti is breath-taking to say the least! Quaint villages with white-washed walls dot the stark brown landscape. Monasteries with colorful prayer flags flutter high, watching over the valley below. Chandratal was a slice of serenity in the midst of nowhere. We enjoyed the hikes through villages and interacting with the locals.
One of the most spectacular stretches of the Himalayas, most of Lahaul and Spiti is still largely unexplored. The valley boasts of clear rivers with ruggedly proud mountains rising up on both sides. Sapphire lakes dot the higher reaches. While modernism has touched Spiti, Lahaul remains isolated, nurturing an ancient civilization. Kinnaur, on the other hand, is a saga in lush green painted boldly against stark mountains.
This tour is an experience in itself- jeep safaris, relaxing walks, exploring villages deep in the mountains, pristine lakes, rivers flowing fast through the mountains, varied traditions, homestays, highest Himalayan peaks, monasteries & lamas, camping & leisure.
