This trip was one true desi experience! Cycling through the flowering mustard fields past women in colorful traditional garments and bangles, taking dips in the deep tube-well tank, sleeping under the stars and downing glasses of lassi- this trip was fun! The foodie in us was in seventh heaven, relishing paranthas dripping with butter and the famed sarson da saag and masale chhole.
Set in the blooming green farmlands of Gurudaspur in Punjab, the land of colorful festivities, this journey is all about reconnecting to your roots. The land stretches as far as the eye can see, then melts in the arms of the sky at the horizon. The land is fertile and agriculture is the biggest source of livelihood. The Punjabis are well known for their lively nature and their famous folk dances, Bhangra & Gidda. Live like a local- have your lunch in the fields by the irrigation canals, sleep under the stars on the terrace, engage in farming activities, milk the cows, offer your prayers at the Gurudwara, take a dip in the deep-tube tank, go cycling around and more! Then there is the irresistible Punjabi spread of course! Forget the calories and simply dig in, end with a milky moustache as you down your creamy lassi. If you arrive during any of the festivities, rest assured you'll have a whale of a time!
