We loved the walking safari through the still forest, the only sound being the crunch of leaves underneath and the occasional cry of a bird or some wild animal. Canoeing through the backwaters was a stress-buster. The crème de la crème is being accompanied by some of India's best naturalists.
About - Satpura National Park, Churna
Sprawling over 524 km sq, Satpura National Park in Madhya Pradesh is one of the gems in the heartland of the country. Home to tigers, leopards, sambar, chital, Indian muntjac, nilgai, four-horned antelope, chinkara, Gaur , wild boar, wild dog, bear, black buck, fox, porcupine, flying squirrel, mouse deer, Indian giant squirrel, and numerous species of birds, this is a region of rich and diverse biodiversity. It is inhabited by the Korku and Gond tribes, and boasts of cave paintings that will take you back to 500 AD. History comes alive in these now-abandoned rock shelters as sunrays catch the yellow ochre walls by surprise. Not only the wildlife, the rugged terrain of this national park comprising sandstone peaks, narrow gorges, meandering streams, ravines, waterfalls and dense forests is also very enticing.
