Located at the Southern tip of the Deccan Plateau, Wayanad is blessed with bounteous nature. Rolling hills covered with thick rainforests, gushing streams and large tracts of spice plantations attract wilderness lovers to Wayanad. The forests are inhabited by animals like elephants, lions, tigers, macaques etc. Over 240 species of birds are found here. The land is fertile and as such people from all over Kerala have migrated here. The cultural diversity reflects in the tradition and cuisine of Wayanad.
